  Custom Columbus Blue Jackets Jerseys
Posted by: douhua2233 - 02-20-2019, 01:39 AM - Forum: Staff Report - No Replies

John Carlson can’t forget that he is fighting for the NHL lead for points among defensemen because his Washington Capitals teammates keep razzing him about it.”The guys do a good job of pumping that up in the locker room Columbus Blue Jackets Hats Womens ,” Carlson said.Carlson’s 61 points have him tied with the Dallas Stars’ John Klingberg, and he is a dark horse candidate for the Norris Trophy as the league’s top defenseman.”John’s having just a whale of a year,” teammate Matt Niskanen said. ”Monster year – production, been carrying the load all year. He’s been a stalwart back there for us.”This breakout season with a career-high 15 goals and 46 assists is coming at a perfect time for Carlson, who is set to be an unrestricted free agent this summer but has been flying under the radar compared to New York Islanders captain John Tavares. Carlson command upward of $7 million per season on a deal that’s almost certain to be eight years if Washington re-signs him or seven if he hits the market July 1.The 28-year-old has outperformed the six-year contract he signed in 2012 that pays him just under $4 million a year. He has shown the ability to be a dominant No. 1 defenseman by averaging 25 minutes a game, running the point on the top power-play unit, killing penalties and drawing the toughest matchups.A 2008 first-round pick of the Capitals, Carlson likes Washington and would like to stay if the fit is there. General manager Brian MacLellan has said he believes each side wants to get a deal done but will wait until after the season to try to make it happen. The big question is whether the Capitals can make it work under the salary cap, which might require trades even though the ceiling is expected to go up to between $78 million and $82 million from $75 million.Carlson might not reach the $7.875 million annual salary of Tampa Bay defenseman Victor Hedman, who along with Drew Doughty of the Los Angeles Kings is a Norris front-runner, but he might not be far off. Carlson has more of an offensive punch than San Jose Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic, whose new deal pays him $7 million a year, and he has almost double the points of the next-highest potential free agent defenseman, former Capitals teammate Mike Green Custom Columbus Blue Jackets Jerseys , who’s 32.”He’s always been steady,” Washington goaltender Braden Holtby said of Carlson. ”His role’s expanded, obviously, which shows: time on ice and points and such. He’s got all the tools of a great defenseman. “Carlson isn’t the only player excelling in a contract year. Here are some others:JAMES VAN RIEMSDYKThirty-goal scorers get paid handsomely in free agency because they are so rarely available. Van Riemsdyk’s 33 goals are 11th-most in the NHL, and the 6-foot-3, 217-pound left-winger has gotten better around the net. Van Riemsdyk, the second overall pick in 2007, has another one of the league’s best bargain contracts at $4.25 million a year, which Toronto inherited from Philadelphia. The Maple Leafs have expressed interest in keeping the 28-year-old.JOHN TAVARESUndoubtedly the best pending free agent, Tavares still not having a new contract with the New York Islanders is generating buzz and whispers like Steven Stamkos two years ago. Stamkos re-upped with Tampa Bay on the eve of free agency, which Tavares could do. The Islanders will miss the playoffs for the second consecutive season and sixth time in Tavares’ nine years in the league. The point-a-game player with 32 goals and 43 assists could fetch $10 million a year or more if he isn’t back with New York.DAVID PERRONThe expansion Vegas Golden Knights struck gold with Perron, whose 66 points are a career high and a big reason they are leading the Pacific Division. The soon-to-be 30-year-old winger got his game back after bouncing around to four different teams the past five seasons and could easily re-sign with Vegas like teammate Jonathan Marchessault did.JOE THORNTONKnee surgery knocked Thornton out of the San Jose Sharks’ lineup in January, cutting short a season in which he had 36 points in 43 games at age 38. If Thornton shows he can still play at the top of his game when he returns, he will be in demand for another one-year contract.RICK NASHGoing from the New York Rangers to Boston appears to have reinvigorated Nash’s game after just 28 points in 60 games before the trade. The 33-year-old power winger’s contract year won’t truly be judged until the playoffs www.starsshoponline.com , where he gets another chance to exorcise some past demons.— SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — On a night when they didn’t necessarily play their best game, the San Jose Sharks found a way to rise to the occasion.Timo Meier scored two goals, Logan Couture had two assists and San Jose defeated the Dallas Stars 3-2 Thursday. After totaling 10 goals in their previous two games, the Sharks were scoreless for the first 36:20.“I didn’t think we started great,” coach Pete DeBoer said. “You have to give (the Stars) some credit. I thought they played a very good game for back-to-back games. I thought they were tight and didn’t give us a lot of room.“I think as the season goes on and you travel, some nights you feel better than others, and tonight was a night where I thought we were off a little, but we battled and found a way to win.”Meier’s 17th and 18th goals sent the Sharks to their third straight win and fifth in six games. Meier has four goals in his last two games and 10 points (five goals, five assists) in his past six contests.Joe Thornton also scored and Martin Jones made 20 saves for the Sharks.A fortuitous bounce figured prominently in Thornton’s goal, with the puck caroming off a shin pad in front.“Yeah, just one of those where it just pops out and there was an open net,” Thornton said. “Just good fortune, I guess.”San Jose prevented a three-game season series sweep by Dallas Dallas Stars T-Shirts Womens , which had won three straight and six of seven against the Sharks. Dallas has lost three in a row overall after winning its previous four.“I thought tonight we played a really hard game,” Stars forward Blake Comeau said. “We played in a tough building against a really good team on a back-to-back . but it’s a results-based league. It’s disappointing we didn’t get the win, but that being said, I thought we did a lot better job tonight than we did in Anaheim and that’s a good step moving forward.”Meier scored at 2:50 of the third period to break a 1-all tie. Just more than five minutes later, the Sharks made it 3-1 on Thornton’s fifth goal of the season.Miro Heiskanen scored his seventh for Dallas with 7:36 left to make it 3-2.Radek Faksa scored at 3:35 of the second to give the Stars a 1-0 lead. Faksa jumped on the rebound of Julius Honka’s shot in front and put the puck past Jones for his fifth goal.Meier tied it at 16:20 of the second, firing a shot from 5 feet inside the blue line through a crowd of players off a faceoff.Stars goalie Anton Khudobin turned back 21 shots after going 5-1 with a 1.32 goals-against average in his previous six games against San Jose.“I thought our effort was pretty good tonight,” Stars coach Jim Montgomery said. “The chances were almost even, the shots were almost even. They get that shot off a shin pad that goes to Thornton on a back door . we didn’t get that bounce.”NOTES: Thornton was in the lineup after missing Wednesday’s practice and Thursday’s optional skate with an undisclosed injury. … Couture has 11 points (two goals, nine assists) in his last nine games. … Stars D Gavin Bayreuther was a healthy scratch. … Stars C Martin Hanzal was a scratch after playing three straight games, his first action since undergoing spinal fusion surgery in April. … Dallas didn’t hold a morning skate after playing in Anaheim on Wednesday night. … The Sharks had five shots on goal and the Stars three in the first period.UP NEXTStars: Wrap up four-game road trip Saturday in Colorado.Sharks: Play at Chicago on Sunday.

The Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night host a Florida Panthers team still in search of their first win in the young season. The Panthers (0-2-1) have led in each of their games thus far before losing each by one goal.“Every time we take the lead Youth Kevin Labanc Jersey , it’s tough when the momentum changes and the other team ties it up right after. It’s a pattern so far in the first three games,” Panthers coach Bob Boughner told the team’s website. “It’ something that’s got to change.”Article continues below ...Florida’s latest defeat came at home Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks. The Panthers led 2-1 in the second period before the Canucks tied the game on a penalty shot. Vancouver took the lead early in the third period and the Panthers fell 3-2.Florida generated 62 shot attempts in the loss. The Panthers failed to cash in on any of their five power plays — and are now 0-for-12 on the season — while the Canucks were 1-for-3.“I think there’s a lot of things we can be positive about and we’re playing pretty good hockey, but we’re kind of beating ourselves,” forward Vincent Trocheck said. “We’re giving teams just a few chances, but the chances we’re giving up are Grade-A quality opportunities that we can’t be giving up.”Panthers goalie James Reimer, who stopped 27 shots against Vancouver, is 0-2-1 with a 3.62 goals-against average and an .885 save percentage. The Flyers (2-3) played one of their strongest games of the season on Saturday but came away with a 1-0 loss to the visiting Vegas Golden Knights. The Flyers outshot the Knights 26-21 but couldn’t put a puck past goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury.“We needed to be (better defensively). We got scored on a lot (in the first four games),” Jakub Voracek told the Courier Post. “We wanted to tidy it up a bit, which we did. The positive thing is that we didn’t take anything out of the offensive side. Obviously, we had a lot of chances and didn’t score. Another tough game (Tuesday).”The Flyers had surrendered 19 goals in their first four games.Coach Dave Hakstol was pleased with Saturday’s effort but would like to see the Flyers generate more offensive chances.“We can shoot the puck a little more http://www.sanjosesharksteamshop.com/aut...ure-jersey , especially early in the hockey game, to establish a little more in the offensive zone,” he told Philly.com. “We can have a couple individual players play better.”Philadelphia — already missing forwards James van Riemsdyk (knee) and Nolan Patrick (upper body) got some good news Monday when winger Oskar Lindblom practiced and said he’ll be in the lineup against the Panthers.Lindblom was hit face-first into the boards Saturday by Vegas defenseman Brayden McNabb and left the game.“After the hard hit, I felt a little shaky, but I got a good day off and I felt like I came back to normal pretty quick,” Lindblom told Philly.com after Monday’s practice.Brian Elliott has a 6-3-0 career record against the Panthers with a 2.41 goals-against average and .919 save percentage. Reimer is 4-4-3 with a 2.51 GAA and a .918 save percentage versus Philadelphia. WASHINGTON (AP) — Trailing the defending Stanley Cup champions by four in the second period, the Anaheim Ducks believed they had a chance. They were right.Pontus Aberg scored twice in the third, including the go-ahead goal with 5:05 remaining, and the Ducks stopped Washington’s seven-game win streak with a 6-5 victory over the Capitals on Sunday.“It’s hockey,” Aberg said. “Anything can happen.”The Ducks trailed 5-1 before rallying for their fourth consecutive victory. Ryan Getzlaf had a goal and two assists and Rickard Rakell had a goal and an assist in the finale of a five-game trip.“Believe me Martin Jones Jersey , there wasn’t anybody on that bench accepting where we were just because we’d had success previously in winning three in a row,” Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. “That wasn’t even in their minds. They’re in the moment now, and it’s our job to keep them in that moment.”Anaheim became the first NHL team to overcome a four-goal deficit on the road to win in regulation since Colorado accomplished the feat against Florida on March 3, 1999. It was the second time in franchise history that the Ducks overcame a four-goal deficit to win in any fashion, joining a 5-4 overtime victory against Winnipeg on March 31, 2014.Evgeny Kuznetsov and Chandler Stephenson each had a goal and an assist for Washington, which chased John Gibson after scoring three times in the first part of the first period.“You really can’t fault him on it,” Carlyle said of Gibson. “But they had three goals on (11) shots, and as a coach you’ve got a decision to make for the rest of your team, not him.”It was Anaheim’s highest scoring game of the season. Ryan Miller stopped 19 of 21 shots for the win.“I can’t remember anything like that honestly Womens Melker Karlsson Jersey ,” Miller said. “We had half the game to kind of get ourselves back, and we did it.”Aberg’s ninth goal of the season came moments after Anaheim killed off Washington’s fifth power play, and resulted from a turnover in the neutral zone.Kiefer Sherwood took the puck into the right corner of the Ducks’ attacking zone and tried to feed Getzlaf in front. With Caps goaltender Braden Holtby coming out of his crease, Getzlaf failed to make solid contact.Aberg was first to the loose puck, where he easily guided it into an open goal from a few feet out.“I just tried to be patient, not to rush it, because I didn’t want to miss that one,” he said.Down 5-1, Andrew Cogliano and Rakell scored even-strength goals 55 seconds apart in the second period. Aberg and Hampus Lindholm then converted on back-to-back power plays 1:45 apart to tie it at 5 midway through the third.Nicklas Backstrom, Tom Wilson and Nic Dowd also scored for the Capitals Adidas John Moore Jersey , and John Carlson had two assists. Holtby made 19 saves.“We got too passive I think,” Backstrom said. “When we were up 5-1 we should have been more aggressive than we were. It’s our fault.”NOTES: Miller picked up his 374th win, tying John Vanbiesbrouck for the lead among American-born goaltenders. … Washington’s opening goal was the 219th of Backstrom’s career, moving him ahead of Mike Ridley for fourth on the Capitals’ scoring list. … With his denial of Ondrej Kase with 7:57 left in the first period, Holtby became the second goaltender in Washington history to reach 10,000 saves. Olaf Kolzig had 18,013 for the Caps across 16 seasons. … Getzlaf now has points in six of his last eight games (four goals, six assists).UP NEXTDucks: Begin a four-game homestand on Wednesday against Chicago.Capitals: Start a three-game road trip with a Stanley Cup rematch Tuesday at Vegas.

NEWARK Tim Heed Jersey , N.J. (AP) Getting ready to play the Flames, the New Jersey Devils knew they had to stop Calgary’s top line of Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan and Michael Ferland if they wanted to win. They didn’t, and they didn’t.Gaudreau scored the go-ahead goal and set up Monahan’s second of the game, and the Flames won their third straight with a 3-2 decision on Thursday night.”We’re good friends off the ice and we’ve been playing together for four years now,” Gaudreau said of Monahan after the Flames improved to 15-5-5 on the road. ”The chemistry keeps building and building, and it’s a lot of fun to play with him. He’s a leader and we’ve been fortunate because there’s been less than 20 to 30 games in my career where I haven’t played with him.”The linemates weren’t the only big contributors for Calgary.Backup David Rittich made 30 saves, giving Mike Smith a rare night off. He was at his best in the third period when New Jersey held a 12-1 shot advantage.”It’s huge that he has a game like this,” said Monahan Alex Pietrangelo Jersey Kids , who has five goals in his current four-game goal scoring streak. ”Smitty has been great for us all year, he’s been the backbone of this group, so having Ritter come in and give Smitty a break, that gives our team a ton of confidence.”Taylor Hall and Pavel Zacha scored for New Jersey, which lost its second straight and sixth of nine. Keith Kinkaid made 22 saves.”One of the biggest things we had to do tonight was shut down their top guys,” said Hall, who tallied his 20th of the season. ”Their top line is dangerous and they don’t need many chances to get one past you. We didn’t do that. We made it hard on ourselves. I thought we had a really good third period, but too little, too late.”Calgary scored all its goals in the second period. After Monahan and Hall exchanged goals in the opening 7:23 http://www.officialpenguinsproshop.com/a...ard-jersey , Gaudreau put the Flames ahead after getting away with a trip on Nico Hischier as Hall and Jesper Bratt skated up the ice on a 2-on-1.Instead of shooting, Hall’s pass to Bratt was off target and the puck went around the boards. Michael Ferland collected it, found Gaudreau at the Devils’ blue line and the New Jersey native beat Kinkaid with a backhander on a breakaway at 14:33 for a 2-1 lead.Monahan stretched the lead to 3-1 with 1:55 left in the period. After taking a pass from Gaudreau, his initial shot from the left circle hit the goalpost, went into the air and bounced off the helmet of defenseman Andy Greene. Monahan collected the puck low in the right circle and scored his 27th goal and fifth in the last four games.”We were making some good plays out there and moving the puck around and luckily enough I got rewarded a couple of times,” Monahan said.Zacha closed the gap to 3-2 at 7:23 of the third period with a nifty backhander in close with New Jersey on a power play.”They had opportunities in the second and scored and we had opportunities in the third period and didn’t find a way to put it in the net,” Devils coach John Hynes said.NOTES: Flames RW Michael Frolik played in his 700th NHL game. … Calgary RW Troy Brouwer was hit in the face by a puck early in the game and missed a portion of the first period. … LW John Quenneville played with the Devils for the first time this season. It was his 13th NHL game. … Monahan’s single-season mark for goals is 31 in 2014-15. … This is Hall’s fifth 20-goal season. … Calgary is now 18-2-2 when leading after two periods.UP NEXTFlames: At the New York Rangers on Friday night.Devils: At Columbus on Saturday night.— CALGARY, Alberta — Erik Karlsson made a huge impact upon his return to the lineup for the San Jose Sharks on Saturday. The 28-year-old defenseman from Landsbro, Sweden Youth Evgeni Malkin Jersey , would like nothing more than to carry his momentum into New Year’s Eve when his Sharks (21-12-7) take on the Calgary Flames (23-12-4) in a battle of the top two teams in the Pacific Division at the Scotiabank Saddledome.“We have a tough stretch coming up here the next few games,” said Karlsson after tallying a goal and three assists to help lead the Sharks to a 7-4 road victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday. “We’re going to have to play at the top of our level to be able to compete with the teams that we’re playing.Article continues below ...“Now, we’ve just got to go into Calgary and have the mentality that we’re going to win that game, too, and play to the best of our ability and clean some things up from (Saturday) and take the good things with us.”Karlsson sat out San Jose’s previous two games as a result of being suspended for an illegal check to the head of Los Angeles Kings forward Austin Wagner in the second period of a 3-2 overtime loss at home on Dec. 22.“It’s nice to be back,” said Karlsson, who has put up three goals and 27 assists in 30 games with the Sharks this season after playing his first nine NHL campaigns with the Ottawa Senators. “It’s never fun to be out of the lineup, especially for the reason that I was out for. Sometimes it’s good to watch the games from afar, too. You figure a few things out. I was excited to get back (in the lineup) and I did everything I can to stay in it.”San Jose coach Peter DeBoer was also happy to have Karlsson back on the blue line for the Sharks.“You can see his impact on the game Jake Guentzel Jersey Kids , on our team, on the players around him,” DeBoer said. “You take him for granted a little bit. When he’s out, you realize the hole there is there. Every week he’s getting more comfortable here.”Meanwhile, the Flames will be looking to bounce back following a 3-2 overtime setback at home to the surging Vancouver Canucks on Saturday, two days following a 4-1 road win over the Winnipeg Jets.“I thought we faded a little bit as the game went along, didn’t have the same jump, but we skated much better here tonight than we did in Winnipeg and I expect us to skate a lot better Monday, too http://www.officialpenguinsproshop.com/a...ltz-jersey ,” Calgary coach Bill Peters said following the OT loss to the Canucks.Despite the loss, the Flames still sit tied atop the Western Conference standings at 50 points with the Jets (24-12-2), who have a game in hand.“We’ve played a lot of good hockey this year, but there’s a long way to go and as a group we feel like we’ve let it slip over the last few games,” Calgary captain Mark Giordano told the team website. “We’ve got to get back to details, be a lot sharper on the defensive side of things and we’ll be fine.“We’ve put ourselves in good position. Now, we either let the pack make up ground and catch us over the next 20 or we ramp up, take off and solidify what we’ve worked for to get to this point. We’re looking to solidify — to take off.”

BUFFALO http://www.officialdevils.com/authentic-...ood-jersey , N.Y. (AP) Anze Kopitar and the Los Angeles Kings took advantage of the Buffalo Sabres‘ second-period meltdown to snap a three-game skid and keep pace in the tightly contested Western Conference playoff race.Kopitar and rookie Michael Amadio each had two goals in a 4-2 win, which the Kings broke open by scoring three times on consecutive shots over a span of 5:35 on Saturday afternoon.”I think our second period was huge, not just getting the three goals but just dictating the game,” said Kopitar, who upped his team-leading total to 25 goals. ”I thought (today) was a step in the right direction, but we’ve got to continue going.”Article continues below ...Los Angeles improved to 31-22-5 and vaulted into 10th place in the West, a point ahead of the idle Colorado Avalanche. The win was also the Kings’ first in Buffalo since a 4-1 victory on Feb. 21, 2003. Los Angeles had gone 0-6-2 in its previous eight trips to Buffalo, and was 1-12-2 plus a tie in its previous 16 visits dating to the start of the 1993-94 season.”I don’t think we were worried about the 15-year drought in here, but we had a three-game slide that we certainly wanted to stop Nico Hischier Jersey ,” Kopitar said.Frustration boiled over for the Eastern Conference’s last-place Sabres. The press box shook with the loud sound of a door slamming, and Sabres general manager Jason Botterill was spotted leaving the team’s booth shortly after Kopitar scored his first goal to put the Kings up 2-0.Sabres forward Jason Pominville wasn’t surprised upon being informed of what happened.”I would’ve probably done the same thing,” Pominville said of Buffalo’s lackadaisical effort through 40 minutes.”The one thing we control is our effort and the energy we bring,” he said. ”Some nights, we’re just not bringing it. I really don’t get it.”The Sabres didn’t wake up until the third period, when Marco Scandella scored 30 seconds in with a blast from the blue line that sailed over goalie Jonathan Quick’s right shoulder. Then Rasmus Ristolainen scored during a scramble in front with 3:18 left.Quick stopped 33 shots, while Dustin Brown had two assists.Buffalo’s Robin Lehner was yanked after allowing four goals on 30 shots. Chad Johnson finished with six saves in the final period.Kopitar’s first goal summed up Buffalo’s dreadful performance.Sabres forward Benoit Pouliot lost his balance while trying to play the puck just inside Buffalo’s blue line. The puck dribbled to Brown to set up a 2-on-1 break. Brown fed Kopitar, who wound his way across the front of the net and easily deposited a shot into the open right side with 7:58 left in the second period. The Kings scored twice more in a span of 1:29.Kopitar made it 3-0 with 3:54 left. He was set up for a one-timer in the left circle by Alex Iafallo, who beat the Sabres’ defenders to a loose puck behind the Buffalo net. Then, Amadio scored his second when Sabres defenseman Justin Falk got turned around. Amadio stepped around Falk Dan Hamhuis Jersey Womens , and snapped a shot inside the right post. The only knock Kings coach John Stevens had was how his team eased up in a third period during which Los Angeles was outshot 18-6.”I thought we kind of got off page a little bit, and they made a big push in the third period that we weren’t ready for,” Stevens said.NOTES: The Sabres are 2-6-1 in their past nine home games and 8-17-4 overall at home. Buffalo’s fewest home wins in an 82-game season is 13, set in 2013-14. … Iafallo was a fan of the Sabres growing up in Eden, New York, just outside Buffalo. Though Iafallo had a large contingent of friends present for his first game at Buffalo, the Kings rookie’s parents weren’t among them. They were instead in Columbus, Ohio, to be with Iafallo’s sister, Juliana Youth Pavel Zacha Jersey , who was being honored as part of Ohio State women’s hockey team’s senior weekend. … Sabres C Ryan O’Reilly entered the day leading the league with 867 faceoff wins.UP NEXTKings: Continue their seven-game trip at the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday night.Sabres: Host the Washington Capitals on Monday afternoon.— DENVER (AP) So about that swipe P.K. Subban took at the speedy forward causing Nashville so much grief.”Playoff hockey,” the Predators defenseman said a day after clocking Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon in the side of the head with his right glove. Once untangled, both were sent to the penalty box for holding during Colorado’s 5-3 win Monday.”Do it again next game,” Subban said .This series definitely took a step toward the chippy side as the top-seeded Predators lead 2-1 heading into Game 4 in Denver on Wednesday.”We’re just getting to know each other, right?” Colorado defenseman Nikita Zadorov said. ”It’s the playoffs. It’s always like that. It’s fun. They’re an experienced team that went to the final last season, and they know what to do to draw penalties. Sometimes after the whistle.”On a play in the second period Monday, Mackinnon was skating along the boards when Subban poked at the puck with his stick in his left hand and then delivered a blow with his right. Subban tossed MacKinnon to the ice as teammates rushed in. Subban was booed by the raucous crowd the rest of the night.”I just try to play hard,” Subban said. ”I don’t really hear it anymore. It’s happened so much over my career. Just try to go out there and do my job, be an impactful player when I’m on the ice.”Colorado captain Gabriel Landeskog understands the heightened emotions this time of year. Even more so since the Avalanche haven’t been in postseason position since 2014.”There’s a lot on the line,” Landeskog said. ”If you’re not emotionally involved Authentic Taylor Hall Jersey , it would be weird. You leave everything on the ice. That’s what we did. I’m sure they feel the same way on the other side.”Subban relishes the physical nature of a series – and perhaps getting under the skin of an opposing forward or two.”It’s easy to get into it when you know you’re going to hit somebody, when you know you have to finish all your checks,” Subban said. ”Next game should be another physical one.”So far, Colorado has scored the game’s first goal in each contest. What’s more, the Avs hold a 5-0 advantage in first-period scoring during the series. That’s partly why Nashville went through a frenzied practice Tuesday, complete with some light checking.”Today, there was a message behind it and some passion in our practice,” defenseman Ryan Ellis said. ”It was great to see. Not only competing but making plays. We need that to translate into the game.”Goaltender Pekka Rinne was sharp as well, turning back just about everything thrown at him during practice. That hasn’t been the case in a series where he’s given up 10 scores and has a 4.17 goals-against average. Rinne was taken out Monday with Colorado leading 4-0 after MacKinnon’s second goal of the game at 4:25 of the second period.”For sure, yesterday was a disappointing night for all of us Womens Will Butcher Jersey ,” Rinne said. ”We need to bounce back.”Nashville coach Peter Laviolette isn’t that concerned with the psyche of his elite goaltender – or that of his team, which advanced to the Stanley Cup Final a season ago before losing to Pittsburgh.”If we could’ve played at noon, they’d all want to play right away,” Laviolette said. ”That’s the nature of competitive people.”And that’s why Landeskog thinks the Avalanche will see a revamped Rinne on Wednesday.”He’s a real good goaltender and made it tough on us all series long really,” Landeskog said. ”I’m sure he’s going to want to come back and have a good game.”NOTES: Colorado D Samuel Girard practiced Tuesday while wearing a non-contact jersey. NEW YORK (AP) Henrik Lundqvist raised his arms in a game-ending celebration as if it were playoff series clincher. It likely felt that way for the New York goalie as the Rangers snapped a brutal four-game losing streak.Lundqvist made 28 saves in relief of Ondrej Pavelec www.officialstarsproonline.com , who injured his knee during the first period of an eventual 4-3 victory over the Calgary Flames on Friday night.Lundqvist replaced Pavelec to start the second and made 19 saves that period then stopped all nine shots in the third to secure the win, his team’s first since Jan. 25 at San Jose before the All-Star break. It was most saves Lundqvist ever made in a relief appearance.”We’ve been losing a lot of one-goal games, which means we are one play away, we are one save away, one goal away from getting points,” said Lundqvist, who won in relief for the third time in his 13-year career with the Rangers. ”Tonight we got that goal, we got that save in the end to keep the lead.”Mika Zibanejad scored the go-ahead goal on a power play at 12:41 of the third period off a cross-ice pass from J.T. Miller. It was Zibanejad’s 16th goal of the season. The Rangers ended Calgary’s three-game winning streak. New York had lost 10 of its last 13 games to fall out of an Eastern Conference playoff spot.Rangers forward Rick Nash, likely to be traded by the Feb. 26 deadline because of his expiring contract Dallas Stars T-Shirts Authentic , tied it at 3 at 6:41 of the third with his 17th goal of the season. Brett Kulak had his first NHL goal, and Curtis Lazar also scored for the Flames. The Flames (28-19-8) had won the first two games of their six-game trip, beating New Jersey 3-2 on Thursday night. Their coach Glen Gulutzan was not happy with his team’s performance especially seeing his team outshot 20-8 in the first period.”Just the way we played and the way we approached the game. I thought we were terrible in the first and took way too many penalties,” he said. ”We got what we deserved. We weren’t ready to play.”Grabner put the Rangers ahead 2-1 at 11:52 of the second when the puck deflected off Calgary defenseman Giordano and went past goalie Mike Smith. Grabner has a team-high 22 goals.Lazar quickly tied the contest for the Flames with his first of the season at 12:37, nudging the puck past Lundqvist when the goaltender went for a poke check attempt.Hayes opened the scoring for the Rangers, knocking in a rebound on the power-play at 7:53 of the first period. The Rangers (26-24-5) seemed to come out with relieved purpose a day after the organization released a letter to fans asking them to bear with a potential rebuild ahead with the league’s trade deadline looming in just over two weeks.Vigneault said he still believes his squad can make the playoffs – though the roster he will be working with remains to be determined.”If I were a player, I would be looking at the standings, seeing that we’re three points out of the playoffs. You can be sure I’d be coming ready, coming out and working hard Dallas Stars Hoodies Authentic ,” he said. ”I think that’s what we’ve been doing.”Nash figures to be the most prominent player to depart since his contract is expiring. The 33-year-old forward needs two points to reach 800 in his NHL career. He scored a career-high 42 goals for the Rangers three seasons ago.Even though the Rangers outshot the Flames so widely in the opening period, Calgary still managed the tie the contest at 1 when Kulak scored his first NHL goal at 18:15.Vigneaul said Pavelec would be evaluated on Saturday and any roster decisions would be determined before the team leaves for Winnipeg and the start of a four-game trip. With Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh out against the Flames with an upper body injury, two defensemen made their debuts for the Rangers – Neal Pionk and John Gilmour. Both were recalled from AHL Hartford.NOTES: The Rangers have won six straight at home against Calgary . PHILADELPHIA (AP) Sidney Crosby passed Mario Lemieux in Pittsburgh’s record book and pushed the Philadelphia Flyers to the brink of elimination.Flyers fans booed the goal – and the ones that stuck around for the end belted a familiar refrain: “Fire Hakstol! Fire Hakstol!”Crosby scored his fifth goal of the series and became the Penguins‘ career postseason points leader in a 5-0 win over the Flyers on Wednesday night. The Penguins lead the first-round playoff series 3-1 as its shifts to Pittsburgh for Game 5 on Friday. Crosby and the Penguins followed a 7-0 Game 1 win and a 5-1 Game 3 victory with another dominant outing.Matt Murray stopped 26 shots for his second shutout of the series and the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Penguins are a win away from playing in the second round for the 11th time in the last 12 seasons.Crosby scored in the second period for a 4-0 lead and topped the team owner and Hall of Famer in Lemieux for most playoff points with 173.”A lot of his records aren’t going to be touched http://www.officialflames.com/authentic-...han-jersey ,” Crosby said. ”The fact I can be close to him and around that one, I guess I’ve been fortunate to play in a number of playoff games helps a lot.”The Flyers were already on their second goalie by the time Crosby scored. The Penguins chased Brian Elliott early in the period after the maligned goalie allowed his 14th goal of the series. Michal Neuvirth relived Elliott and it didn’t matter. Neuvirth lost track of the puck behind the net and had his head turned to the right when Crosby found it and snapped it under the goalie’s left skate.”I was in a good spot. The puck ended up right on my stick,” Crosby said. The Flyers were confused. The Penguins were composed. And it so it goes in Philly, the Flyers are a loss away from another empty season without the Stanley Cup.”Somehow, we need to get our confidence back and go from there,” team captain Claude Giroux said.Disgruntled Flyers fans chanted from the balcony to the concourse for the Flyers to fire third-year coach Dave Hakstol. Both teams played without key cogs in their lineup: Sean Couturier (who had career highs with 31 goals and 76 points) was injured Tuesday at practice in a vicious collision with teammate Radko Gudas; the Pens played without top-line forward Patric Hornqvist because of an undisclosed injury.Giroux, who scored 102 points during the season, has not scored a posteason goal since 2014.”One game away for the season to be over,” Giroux said. ”You can expect this team to have some fight the next game.”The Flyers pulled out all their good-luck charms. The national champion Villanova Wildcats were in the house and star guard Phil Booth screamed ”Are you ready for some hockey?”Flyers fans heard the usual stirring rendition of ”God Bless America,” live by Lauren Hart and on video by the late Kate Smith. The song has been a rallying anthem for the Flyers since Smith began singing it in the mid 1970s. Hart started the song, then looked up to the big screen and passed it off to Smith. They finished in a split-screen duet.Once the pageantry settled down, the Penguins poured it on.Crosby’s on-point pass on the power play led to Evgeni Malkin’s third goal of the playoff just 4:33 into the game. Phil Kessel scored his first of the postseason midway through the period. Kris Letang made it 3-0 in the second and that was all for Elliott.Riley Sheahan made it 5-0 late in the third. Neuvirth stopped 11 of 13 shots in relief.”We won in their building on the second game so that’s the attitude we’re going to take,” Neuvirth said.Murray was solid again, and stoned Travis Konency on a breakaway out of the penalty box in the second that had the second-year center slam his stick on the ice in anger.”They had their chances, at times,” Murray said. ”But we got the job done.”NOTES: Couturier was named a Selke Trophy finalist as the league’s best defensive forward. … 2018 Olympic hockey gold medalists Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson and Monique Lamoureux-Morando hosted a clinic and helped donate equipment on behalf of a volunteer effort at the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation. SAN FRANCISCO -- With only a handful of wins over the past two years, the Colorado Rockies have grown to loathe their annual visits to AT&T Park. A five-run ninth inning against Giants closer Sergio Romo might just change how manager Walt Weisss club views its road trips to San Francisco. D.J. LeMahieu hit a tiebreaking single after going hitless in his first three at-bats, and the Rockies rallied to beat the Giants 7-4 on Friday night. "Its a tough place to play, not only for us but for everybody," said Weiss, whose club had dropped 15 of 18 at the Giants waterfront ballpark. "The Giants are always tough at home. To win a game like that, not only the first game of the series but the way we won it, (is) big for our club." The Rockies had gone five straight innings without a hit before scoring five times off Romo (3-2), who went into the night tied for most saves in the majors. Troy Tulowitzki had a leadoff single, but was replaced by Charlie Culberson after injuring his foot reaching first base. After Justin Morneau singled, Romo retired Wilin Rosario on a fly to centre field. He then intentionally walked Corey Dickerson to load the bases. Pinch-hitter Ryan Wheeler hit a two-run single before LeMahieus soft single to centre drove in Dickerson. "(Romo) does such a good job of keeping the ball down," Wheeler said. "Even the pitch I hit, I think it was a ball. I hit the barrel and it went up the middle." Michael McKenry added an RBI single off George Kontos, and LeMahieu scored while McKenry was caught in a rundown between first and second. Matt Belisle (1-2) pitched one inning for the win, and LaTroy Hawkins worked the ninth for his 12th save. "This team knows what to do and we continue to hold each other accountable, but you still have to get it done," Belisle said. "Tonight, thats what happened." The Rockies had to overcome an injury-shortened night by starter Jorge De La Rosa. The left-hander, who had lost his previous two starts, was forced out of the game after the third inning due to tightness in his lower back. The Rockies bailed him out with their huge ninth, marking the eighth time this season Colorado has won in its final at-bat. "They found a way to find the holes," Romo said following his third blown save this season. "I have no explanation for that other than it was their night. I felt fine. I needed a groundball and it didnt work out." Up to that point, Weiss team hadnt done much. Tim Lincecum worked six solid innings for San Francisco. The two-time NL Cy Young Award winner allowed three hits and two runs, retiring his final 10 batters. Three relievers combined to shut out Colorado over the next two innings before Romos collapse in the ninth. Morneau finished with two hits, the only Rockies player with multiple hits. De La Rosa struggled even before his back acted up. He had to strike out Lincecum to escape a bases-loaded jam in the second, then gave up a leadoff double to Angel Pagan in the third. After Hunter Pences RBI single, De La Rosa retired the next two batters but threw one pitch to Michael Morse before summoning team trainers and Weiss to the mound. Umpires allowed De La Rosa to make a few warmup pitches before Morse hit a tying single. Morse also doubled off Tommy Kahnle in the fifth, and Pence doubled and scored on a wild pitch by Chris Martin in the seventh. NOTES: C Rosario got hit in the face by a ball he fouled off that hit the ground and bounced straight up in the second inning. A team trainer came out to check on Rosario, who stayed in the game. ... Colorado RHP Christian Bergman (0-1) will make his second major league start on Saturday. The rookie allowed two runs in six innings in his pro debut on Monday. RHP Ryan Vogelsong (4-3) pitches for San Francisco. Air Max 720 Outlet Sale .com) - Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer were among the third-round winners Friday at the French Open.Ive trained top MMA talent, Ive trained adult rec athletes. Ive also trained some pro football and hockey players. The thing that is the same in all cases is that everyone wants to maximize their effort. Nothing replaces a good diet. The supplement industry is a billion dollar industry, even the biggest giants in this will not suggest they replace a solid diet. Quality supplements are there to enhance and improve every session you have. My goal this week is to open up the discussion on supplements. The training schedule I have is intense, and its being done in a gym with all kinds of athletes. I sat down with Cellucor brand ambassador, registered massage therapist, published Bikini Model and amazing clean eating cook Crissy Zachanowich.  Figure athletes, body builders, and bikini models take lean muscle mass preservation, and the scientific use of supplements to the next level. We discussed three key supplements. Easy to use, and definite must haves when the training gets intense. Simply called a “pre-workout”, athletes and people hitting the gym have turned these supplements into the largest portion of most companies profits. Youll see most of them are stimulant based. Often caffeine and synephrine are used to energize an athlete before the workout. In addition, youll see creatine in the hopes of capturing its potential power and strength boosting. Beta-Alanine will often be present to buffer against lactic acid (Huge for me when my Coach Jeff Fisher puts me on the Jacobs Ladder) and finally, Arginine for blood circulation. Everything in the pre-workout is naturally available, its just concentrated. For the arginine, youd have to eat about a pound of almonds before your workout. During the workout, branch chain amino acids are key. When your body starts to hit the wall, and you have pushed your limits, protein is broken down to be a fuel. Thats right, precious muscle tissue is broken down to fuel your fight.ddddddddddddIts broken down into branch chain amino acids. Those are converted to sugar, and you get more energy to work harder. Drinking BCAAs tricks the body into sparing muscle, and athletes everywhere rejoice. Post workout protein, or simply a protein shake to ensure the body is in a positive nitrogen balance. Meaning, your body has enough protein that it is creating muscle, boosting immunity, and creating all the cells and hormones you need to be in that “beast mode”. You can get all the protein you need from meals and real food. However, its a lot easier to drink a shake. Ive been drinking some amazing treats lately thanks to Crissy. Protein powder has come a long way. Red Velvet Cake? Cookies and Cream? Cinnamon Swirl? These all exist and taste as good as they sound. It makes the hour in the gym worth the reward of the post workout shake. Two things to remember after reading this. First, if you are not working out to your max, you dont need to supplement. Go online, or pop over to my youtube channel and watch some pro athletes train. There is sweat on the floor, and exercises to failure. Again, its the reason Im at Elite Performance in Winnipeg. That atmosphere, and the push to be your absolute best. If you arent doing that, then supplements are not critical. Second, your diet needs to be perfected and cared for. If its not, what are you “supplementing”? Try some new workouts and put all your effort into them. Then try some of the amazing science thats out there. Trust me when I tell you, they make that difference in recovery that gets you through the week and ready for your rest days. Get in the gym, get training, and get an appreciation for what it takes to perform at a pro level. Do it to appreciate every sport a little more, especially the most demanding sport out there, MMA.   activity and were going to pursue it
Posted by: Dogcat250 - 02-19-2019, 05:07 AM - Forum: Staff Report - No Replies

HOUSTON - The Houston Astros said Monday that they have been the victims of hackers who accessed their servers and published months of internal trade talks on the Internet. "It was an illegal activity and were going to pursue it and try and find out who did it and prosecute," general manager Jeff Luhnow said. The team is working with the FBI and Major League Baseball security to try who was responsible for the breach. Luhnow said the team learned of the hacking about a month ago. The team responded on Monday after the website Deadspin.com published a story about the breach. Among the items involved talks with Miami to trade 2012 top overall pick Carlos Correa and rookie George Springer for Marlins star slugger Giancarlo Stanton. Luhnow said some of the information was accurate and some was not, but he wouldnt discuss what portions fell into which category. He said the Astros have since upgraded the security on their system. "I dont know if anybody can say for sure that any system is 100 per cent secure, but were working on it," Luhnow said. "Weve done a security review and were going to continue to do more. Obviously information is important in our industry as it is in any industry, and we want to do everything we can to protect the information." Luhnow has reached out to other teams to apologize that they were involved in the breach as well. "Some of it is not accurate and theres information out there that affects other teams and individual players thats not accurate," he said. "And just in general when you have a conversation with another team its a conversation between two individuals or two clubs. Its not meant to be shared with the world. So I feel bad about that." The Astros rely heavily on sabermetrics in their evaluation of players and have been open about the fact that they use an online database to house their proprietary information. Luhnow isnt sure if thats why they were targeted, but he knows they are far from the only team which stores data about players and trades online. "You have to think about it: its the double-edged sword of technology makes things easier, but if things like this are capable of happening its definitely a risk that every team should probably think about now in light of this happening to us," he said. The 55-year-old, who has worked for Major League Baseball in roles with ever-increasing authority since 1998, will take over from the 80-year-old Selig on Jan. 25. Its a generational change much like the NBA undertook when Adam Silver, then 51, replaced 71-year-old David Stern as commissioner in February. And like Silver, he was his bosss pick. Manfred beat out Boston Red Sox Chairman Tom Werner in the first contested vote for a new commissioner in 46 years. The third candidate, MLB Executive Vice-President of Business Tim Brosnan, dropped out just before the start of balloting. "I am tremendously honoured by the confidence that the owners showed in me today," Manfred said. "I have very big shoes to fill." Selig has led baseball since September 1992, first as chairman of the sports executive council following Fay Vincents forced resignation and as commissioner since July 1998. After announcing his intention to retire many times only to change his mind, he said last September that he really, truly planned to leave in January 2015. One baseball executive who attended the meeting, speaking on condition of anonymity because details of the 4 1/2-hour session were not be divulged, said Manfred was elected on approximately the sixth ballot. The initial vote was 20-10 for Manfred, three short of the required three-quarters majority. His total increased to 21 on the second and 22 on the third. While teams put written ballots into envelopes, keeping their choices secret, from team official speeches it was evident that Tampa Bays Stuart Sternberg and Milwaukees Mark Attanasio likely switched, the person said. Manfreds total dropped to 20, then increased to 22 before a dinner break. He got the needed 23rd vote on the next, apparently from Washington. Owners then made the final vote unanimous. The person said it appeared Arizona, Boston, the Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati, the Los Angeles Angels, Oakland and Torontoo had been the final holdouts.dddddddddddd White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf and Toronto president Paul Beeston spoke out strongly against Manfred, the person said. Angels owner Arte Moreno joined Reinsdorf in leading Werners support. "While Rob may not have been my initial choice for commissioner, the conclusion of a very good process was to name Rob as the person best positioned to help baseball endure and grow even stronger for the next generation of fans," Reinsdorf said in a statement. "Todays decision was reached by 30 owners voting separately but speaking, in the end, with one voice." Manfred started with baseball in the late 1980s as an outside counsel in labour negotiations and was hired by Selig as executive vice-president for labour relations and human resources in 1998. He received an expanded role of executive vice-president of economics and league affairs in 2012 and last September was promoted to chief operating officer, becoming the likely heir apparent. He helped lead negotiations for baseballs last three labour contracts and the joint drug agreement that was instituted in 2002. In the last contested election, in 1968-69, owners turned to their outside labour lawyer, Bowie Kuhn. The 55-year-old Manfred, whose term was not specified, grew up in Rome, New York — about an hours drive from the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. He must address issues that include decreased interest in baseball among younger people and an average game time that has stretched past three hours. "There is no doubt in my mind he has the training, the temperament, the experience to be a very successful commissioner," Selig said, "and I have justifiably very high expectations." Baseball has had labour peace since a 7 1/2-month strike in 1994-95 that cancelled the World Series. Talks to replace the collective bargaining agreement with players that expires after the 2016 season will be conducted with a new union leadership headed by former All-Star first baseman Tony Clark. "I have known Rob for more than 15 years, and Im confident that his vast experience in all aspects of the sport will serve his commissionership well," Clark said in a statement. Now baseball players have walkup music, if you had walkup music in hockey, what song would you choose? Believe Me - Drake and Lil Wayne. Who are some of the funniest teammates youve played with? Hartnell was pretty funny. Matt Greene, when I was in L.A. he was really funny it was comical. Philly we have a good room: Voracek, Giroux, weve got a bunch of jokesters. Was it tough to see Hartnell traded? Yeah obviously we havent started the season yet but it sucks obviously, but hockey is a business. Hartsy is a great player and he was a great player for us and will continue to be a great player in Columbus. If you werent playing hockey what would you be doing? No clue. Its the only thing Ive ever wanted to do. If I had a choice it would be basketball. When I was younger my alternative was being a firefighter. What was the last song that was stuck in your head? Zero to One Hundred, I just heard it on XM on the way over. What was the last movie that made you cry? That made me cry? (breaths deeply) The Notebook (laughs). (image via IMDB) What TV shows are you currently watching? Right now its Big Brother. Breaking Bad was the last one I finished. (Image via Fictionphile) What did you think of the ending? Unbelievable. It was a sick show. The best show Ive seen. That or The Wire. Those two are my favorite shows. With over $500 million spent on NHL free agency so far, what are your thoughts on how crazy it can get after July 1st? Its always nice to see that. When you turn 27 you hit free agency and become a UFA Its like hitting the jackpot. Guys are getting a ton of money. Im not going to be a free agent for a while, so its nice for those guys who are. Can you go BarDown? Obviously, always, every day. DULUTH, Ga. -- Miguel Angel Jimenez made a dramatic Champions Tour debut, setting a tournament record with a first-round 65 on Friday in the soggy Greater Gwinnett Championship. Jimenez, coming off a fourth-place finish in the Masters, overcame constant rain and chilly temperatures at TPC Sugarloaf. He shot a 6-under 30 on his first nine holes, including an eagle on No. 18. He reached 7 under with a birdie on No. 2 and closed with seven straight pars. Defending champion Bernhard Langer, Steve Pate and Kenny Perry each shot a 68. Fred Couples shot a 69, including a double bogey on No. 9, his finishing hole. Jeff Sluman also shot a 69. So when will he race again? Well, Smoke didnt need 140 characters to let reporters know if hed make public the date of his return race. "Nope." Stewart kept mum Friday about any future plans in sprint cars, more than nine months after he broke his leg in a crash that cost him the rest of the 2013 season. He did complete a recent private test at an undisclosed track. The rest is for Stewart to know, and the racing world to find out. "You wont know when its coming," he said at Dover International Speedway. "When I do go, nobody is going to know about it. Im going to slide in and do it. I want to enjoy it. I dont want it to be a cluster." The three-time NASCAR champion missed the final 15 races last year after breaking his leg in two places during a sprint car crash in Iowa. His first time back in a race car was Feb. 14, the day before he competed — and was crashed out of — the exhibition Sprint Unlimited. His sprint car had been fitted with safety improvements to the torque tube to prevent an injury like the one he suffered. Stewart said no one had tried to talk him out of returning to his weeknight passion. But if they had, well, the feisty champ known as Smoke wouldnt listen anyway: "Its my life. Im going to live my life." Stewart cleared the mental and physical hurdles of returning to racing at Daytona months ago. And while his Sprint Cup season hasnt been a huge success — hes winless in 12 starts with only two top-five finishes — he hasnt missed a beat in driving and running his Stewart-Haas Racing organization.dddddddddddd But rehabilitation has dragged on much longer than he expected. "As far as rehab, pain, all that stuff, I thought it would all be done," he said. "I thought we would be healed 100 per cent by now. But I keep going to the doctor on our scheduled appointments and they keep updating us on how its going and what they think the outlook is for it." He also needs to fix whatever ails his No. 14 Chevrolet team. He hasnt finished higher than 13th in any of his last four races and crashed out at Talladega. Hes a woeful 22nd in the standings and in serious danger of missing out for the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship and driving for his fourth title if cant win a race. That could happen any time — Stewart has 48 career wins and has at least one checkered flag in every season of his Cup career that dates to 1999. "Our track record shows that we can get it," he said. "Its just a matter of when is it going to happen. ... I think you get six or eight weeks before Richmond, then you start panicking if you dont have that win. " Stewart does have three career wins at Dover, including the spring race last season that snapped a 30-race winless skid. He was stuck in 20th in the standings then, a sure sign that all takes is that one checkered flag to snap Smoke back into the thick of contention. "I think its still too early to panic, at least for us," he said.
